Privacy policy

  1. If in the course of usage of the Software, the User sends Customer data, which are equivalent to private information (name, email address), Materialise commits to not use or disclose such information other than as permitted or required for the fulfilment of eyewear orders of the Customer. Materialise shall use appropriate safeguards to prevent use or disclosure of such information other than as required for the fulfilment of these orders.

  2. On the collection of 3D scan data: 3D scan data of the Customer is collected using the TrueDepth camera built-in to the iPad Pro. The app receives color images and depth images for a headturn from left to right. These images are processed on-device to a 3D reconstruction (triangle mesh of the face). Next to that, also accurate pose information is calculated for the 3D reconstruction in each of the captured images. This information is used on-device for:

    The 3D reconstruction, the color images and the accurate pose information are transmitted securely to Microsoft Azure cloud storage managed by Materialise.
    This data is used for:

    The 3D data is retained for 2 years to comply with the warranty legislation on consumer goods in the European Union.

    Materialise commits to not use or disclose such information other than as permitted or required for the reasons described above. Materialise shall use appropriate safeguards to prevent use or disclosure of such information other than as required for the reasons described above.

  3. Materialise reserves the right to use data collection technology to collect information for software usage statistics and bug fixing purposes. By installing and using the software, the User acknowledges and agrees that Materialise may collect, store and analyze the collected information for the purposes mentioned above.

  4. Materialise may share Customer's personal data with other companies of the Materialise Group for these purposes. Customer's personal data may be processed in countries outside the EU which do not offer a similar level of data protection as the EU. If Customer has any questions, or if Customer wishes to exercise its right to access, correction or deletion of its personal data, Customer can contact Materialise at Materialise NV, Technologielaan 15, 3001 Leuven, Belgium or via privacy@materialise.be.
